Marvel fans, get ready for a new dose of Daredevil! The popular superhero character is set to return to the screen in an upcoming television series titled Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
The series will be produced by Marvel Studios and it is intended to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the franchise’s films. It is also the second series centered on the character following Daredevil (2015–2018) by Marvel Television.
Daredevil: Born Again - Cast and characters
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again is a mix of old and new faces, with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil from Marvel’s Netflix television series. Other returning stars include Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher. Sandrine Holt will play Vanessa Fisk, Wilson’s wife, while Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston and Arty Froushan have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Daredevil: Born Again - Production and filming
Development of the series began in March 2022 and the hiring of head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord was revealed in May. The series’ title and episode count were announced in July and filming began in early March 2023 in New York and is scheduled to last until mid-November.
Charlie Cox has begun training for the role, focusing on mixed martial arts (MMA) training to portray Murdock as someone who has training in various fight styles that he can employ depending on who he is fighting.
