Why was the song of Scorpions not released?
The Song of Scorpions faced difficulties in finding a distributor for a theatrical release in India after its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in August 2017. This led to a delay in its release and the film remained in what is commonly referred to as “distributor hell” for almost six years.
The reasons behind this delay are not entirely clear, but it may have been due to factors such as budget constraints, lack of promotion, or challenges related to the film’s content and subject matter.
However, the film was eventually released in select theaters in India in April 2021 and American audiences have been able to stream it via Amazon’s Freevee (formerly iMDb TV) since the same year.
